Welcome to the Javier Chen Lab

At the JChen Lab, we explore how viruses manipulate the immune system, musculoskeletal system, bone, and neurological function to cause disease. Using cutting-edge molecular virology, immunology, and disease modeling, our team uncovers new mechanisms and develops innovative therapies for virus-induced musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.

We are always looking for curious minds and passionate researchers to join us. Whether you are a student, postdoc, or collaborator, you will have the opportunity to contribute, learn, and make an impact. Join a lab where discovery drives innovation and every question matters.

What We Do

The JChen Lab focuses on arboviral pathogenesis and how viruses disrupt bone biology, trigger abnormal calcifications, and cause inflammatory and neurological disorders in humans. We investigate the molecular and immune mechanisms behind these pathologies, combining in vitro and in vivo disease models to identify key viral and host factors. Our goal is to translate these insights into strategies for prevention, therapy, and long-term management of virus-induced musculoskeletal and neurological diseases.
